
Steve Gadd, born on April 9, 1945, in Irondequoit, NY, stands as one of the most influential drummers in the realm of contemporary music. Raised in Rochester, Gadd was deeply inspired by his drummer uncle, who ignited his passion for drumming at the young age of seven. By 11, he had already achieved the remarkable feat of performing with jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie, a testament to his prodigious talent.

Gadd's formal journey in music began at the Manhattan School of Music, eventually leading to his degree completion at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
