Born in Philadelphia, Adam Dorn was immersed in music from an early age, being the son of the famed jazz and R&B producer Joel Dorn. His father’s work with Atlantic Records during the 1960s and 1970s exposed him to a rich tapestry of jazz and R&B soundscapes, shaping his musical sensibilities.
At just 15 years old, Dorn’s passion for music led him to reach out to bassist Marcus Miller, an interaction that allowed him to rub shoulders with luminaries like David Sanborn, Luther Vandross, and Miles Davis. His formal music education took place at Berklee College of Music in Boston, equipping him with the skills to launch a career in music.

The Mocean Worker project began almost serendipitously from a series of sessions that Adam Dorn initially considered a side endeavor. Starting as a DJ specializing in drum 'n' bass, he gradually evolved the project to incorporate a diverse range of styles, including jazz, funk, big-band, and swing—often categorized as Electro-Swing.
