In 2018, Willis's reputation soared as he opened for Taj Mahal and Keb' Mo' during their national TajMo tour, increasing his visibility across the country. This partnership led to Mahal and Keb' Mo' co-producing his second album, "Spectacular Class," in 2019, which achieved number 12 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart and garnered him a Grammy nomination.
