
Joe Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter born on May 8, 1977, in Utica, New York. Embarking on his musical journey at the remarkably young age of four, Bonamassa was encouraged by his father, who exposed him to British blues rock records by artists like Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. By the age of 11, Bonamassa received mentorship from American guitar legend Danny Gatton, and by 12, he had formed his own band, Smokin' Joe Bonamassa, performing around western New York and Pennsylvania on weekends.

A pivotal moment in Bonamassa's early career came when he opened for B.B. King at the age of 12. This experience helped launch his professional journey, spanning more than two decades. During this time, he played a crimson 1972 Fender Stratocaster nicknamed "Rosie."
