Formed in 2010 in Santa Barbara, California, Beware of Darkness is an American rock band known for their energetic sound and introspective lyrics. The band was named after George Harrison's 1970 song "Beware of Darkness." Initially consisting of Kyle Nicolaides (lead vocals, lead guitar), Tony Cupito (drums, percussion), and Daniel Curcio (bass), they later included Lionel Forrester Jr. on drums.

Kyle Nicolaides founded the band after meeting drummer Tony Cupito during one of his acoustic solo shows in Los Angeles. The duo later collaborated with bassist Daniel Curcio. Their music is a dynamic blend of alternative rock, indie rock, blues rock, hard rock, and garage rock, drawing inspiration from iconic artists such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and David Bowie.
The band was signed to Bright Antenna Records, releasing their debut EP, Howl, in 2012. This was followed by their debut album Orthodox, which featured songs that explored the theme of death and living.

Beware of Darkness has toured extensively, sharing stages with renowned acts like Social Distortion, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, and Deftones. Their energetic live performances have graced major festivals like SXSW and Reading and Leeds.
The band announced their break-up on March 19, 2020, but made a comeback exactly a year later, releasing new songs "Millennials" and "Infinite In Your Arms." Kyle Nicolaides continues to make music under the band's name, with their latest album Suicidal In Paradise set for release on January 19, 2024.

Beware of Darkness is celebrated not just for their compelling music, but also for their insightful lyrics which delve into themes of self-awareness, loss, and understanding the complexity of the world.
