Born in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 7, 1968, Eagle-Eye Lanoo Cherry is a renowned musician who has captured the hearts of many with his timeless music. As the son of eclectic American jazz musician Don Cherry and Swedish artist/designer Moki Cherry, Eagle-Eye was destined for a life in the arts from a young age. With a rich cultural heritage, he is of Choctaw descent through his paternal grandmother and African-American through his grandfather. A sibling to singer Neneh Cherry, Eagle-Eye’s family was always immersed in musical and artistic expression.
At age 12, Eagle-Eye Cherry moved to New York City, where he attended the High School of Performing Arts. Sharing a classroom with future stars like Jennifer Aniston, Cherry initially focused on acting and drumming in various bands. He had minor acting roles in films such as Arthur 2: On the Rocks and Born on the Fourth of July, and starred in NBC's short-lived show South Beach in 1993.
